Background Information: Interleukin-1 (IL-1) is produced by activated macrophages and stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release. IL-1 also induces B-cell maturation and proliferation, and modulates fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins have been identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are involved in the inflammatory response.
Amino acid sequence: Ser 113 to Ala 271 of human IL-1α
Handling: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening.
